Braces......................!

Question: getting them exactly next week.... what does it feel like

Answers: getting them exactly next week.... what does it feel like

For the first week it's very strange. I had braces for 2 1/2 years and it wasn't as bad as everyone leads on.

At first, you have to get used to having metal on your teeth so your cheeks and lips may get caught sometimes, it just depends on the person. You'll be sore for a week at most after all of your "tightenings", too.. but it's something you get used to.

I recommend some sort of soup and jello or something for the first few days after getting them :]

unfortunatley, they hurt... not terrible i will die pain, just hurts... bad. don't panic, that'll make it worse. dont think about it, it'll be over in a minute. (you will have to get them tightened, that hurts too)

It feels weird at first, but then you get used to it. Eventually, when they get taken off, it will feel weird to actually feel your own teeth again.

Your gums will also get sore every time you go in to get your braces tightened. I remember not being able to chew because it was so sore.

Its hurts so bad for about a week, then its ok
But when you get them tightened and rubberbands they hurt

It does not hurt! It really does not.
On day one to three (depends) will be alittle sore.
Then the rest is not bad, i would know i have braces.

PS:If they are too sharp ask them to cut them,it really helps!

Goodluck!

they really don't hurt until an hour or two after but while you get them on they'll probably use cheek retractors on you which makes you look like a complete fool but I laughed a lot when getting mine on lol but the first week with them I lost 6 pounds because I couldn't eat.

make sure you take Tylenol an hour before getting them-they'll hurt afterward

they hurt........palet expanders are the worst.......=0

With the lips and tongue held back by a clear plastic retractor, an etching agent is applied for 60 seconds to each tooth. This prepares the enamel to accept the bonding agents which hold the bracket to the tooth.
After 60 seconds, the etch is rinsed off and a sealant chemical is applied to each tooth for about 5 seconds to treat the enamel so the light cured bonding material "sticks" to the tooth. The doctor carefully places each bracket in exactly the right place on the tooth with a small tweezer. The bracket is then checked for angulation and any adjustments are made before activating the bonding material which is between the back of the bracket and the tooth. The bonding agent will not set until exposed to a strong ultra violent light. This gives us time to adjust the bracket to just the right spot on the tooth. The plasma light is shown on the bracket for about 3 seconds to activate and set the bonding materialAfter all the brackets are placed, a soft, body temperature activated wire is placed and held in the bracket with a soft plastic ligature on each bracket. The ligatures come in various colors and can be changed at each appointment.
