Can I get a second opinion on the NHS?!

Question: If I don't think my NHS dentist did a thorough enough examination and I'm still worried I have cavities which he hasn't picked up, can I get a second opinion with a different NHS dentist??

You dont state why you dont feel he/she has picked something up or why you fell you may have somehting that has not been spotted. Are you a new patient or an existing one? if a new were radiographs/ x-rays taken?

I would be tempted to go back if specific concerns. Go 2 months later and pay for another. we can all miss things occasionally chances are it is something that does not require treatment but on the nhs they do not have the time to inform you of everything that is being reviewed.

My advice go private.

you are lucky to find a first dentist let alone a second one on NHS

You need to be careful if you kick up to much fuss the dentist may decide to stop treating you and take you off his list.
