Can I get a cavity when my braces come off?
I just went to the dentist they said I had none, but they would have to see when the braces come off. My teeth really don't hurt at all, I brush okay, can there be a cavity that I don't know about? Help! Please!
Answers:
Very unlikely to caus any damage to the enamel while removing the brace. Only reason a cavity would appear at that point would be if you had poor hygeine and diet while the brace was on and a cavity had already started. Reason they cant tell is the metal of the brace can obscure cavity on the xray.
