Anything to combat dental relapse?!

Question:

Anything to combat dental relapse?

I had braces for a couple years and had them removed when I was about 15-16ish and wore my retainer for about a year. I haven't worn it since (I'm 19) and I've noticed my teeth have become really crooked again. The thing is, my wisdom teeth are going to have to be taken out soo too. Are the wisdom teeth causing the extra crookedness or the fact that I still dont wear the retainer. Is this common for a dentist or orthodontist to see and deal with? I'm also too embaressed to go in and ask for my Dentist's opinion.

Please help... anything suggestions would be great.

Answers:

I don't think it's your fault. It's probably the wisdom teeth. This is an extremely common thing for dentists and orthodontists to see. Don't worry!
