Pain after tooth is filled?
I went to the dentist today and had one of my front botom teeth filled. He said that the decay was in both the front and the back and that he would fill it from the back. As soon as the novacaine wore off the tooth started hurting. I have pain radiating down my jaw and into my neck and up my jaw to my ear. I went back to the dentist and he said I might have an infection and ordered some antibiotics. I asked him if I needed a root canal and he said no. Can anybody help me?

My mom had one of her teeth pulled and got an infection. I remember she was complaing about pain in that side of her face too....so that's probably what it is. Keep taking the antibiotics and hopefully you'll get some relief...if not call the dentist. Good luck.
