Pulling an adult tooth (PLZ HELP!)?!

Question:

Pulling an adult tooth (PLZ HELP!)?

I have a toothache VERY VERY VERY BAD and I do not have the money to go to a dentist to get it pulled. When I stopped by and asked them if they have payment plans they so that they sdo, but it is credit based. MY CREDIT SUX (To put nicely) so I was wanting to know if it was possible to pull my own tooth (it has a cap on it right now that had been put on when I was a child) that way I wouldn't have to continue my already nonsucessful search for a dentist.

Answers:

Unless the tooth is REALLY loose due to gum disease (i.e. about to fall out on its own), there is no way you can pull out an adult tooth on your own without great risk of severely injuring yourself or causing some serious pain.

You best get treatment from a professional who has the right skills and equipment for the job.

Look for a hospital in your area that has an oral surgery department. They usually have residents who can do extractions, and straightforward extractions using just local anesthesia are usually affordable.

Another possibility would be a dental school if there is one in your area. Dental students can do extractions under supervision, and their fees are about half that of a regular dentist.

Hope this helps.
