hey Im an RDA and I can tell you that the more nervous you are the faster you loose anesthetic, try and relax and if it still bothers you maybe you should be pre medicated with what we call triazolam and valium it makes you groggy and you should always have someone drop you off and pick you up but trust me it makes life alot easier hope i helped!

whatever makes u comfortable hunny

It should not have hurt like that. Were you just scared in the first place and feeling pressure? Maybe he can put you right out next time?

If your not happy then go somewhere else.Your dentist does'nt seem to be listening to you when you say your in pain.Either way,if you go somewhere else or go back then get it done a.s.a.p.Just get it over and done with.

First off does your dentist have any idea that he was hurting you that much cause I'm sure if he or her new they were hurting you so much they would of stopped and have given you some advil or something next time you go back inform your dentist of what hurts and why you are scarred.

Find another dentist. I have a great dentist - at the slightest sound of pain from me, he and his assistant were out of my mouth. He would then determine if I needed more medication. A good dentist watches their patient carefully. But please, do go to a dentist - your teeth are important to your health.

Ask for sedation dentistry. It allows the patient to be in a state of conciousness that borders on sleep. You neither see nor feel pain.

BEING FRIGHTENED MAKES THE SHOT NOT AS EFFECTIVE.
NEXT TIME YOU GO ASK FOR GAS AND THE SHOT.

Could you possibly have your dentist perscribe you something to relax you prior to your next visit. I have serious anxiety about dental proceedures too, because of past pain. My dentist is very understanding, and perscribes me Zanex (sp???) prior to visits. The down side to that is that you will need someone to drive you to your apointments. I feel like a child again, because my dad usually takes me.
