Im having my wisdom teeth removed...any advice.?? any horror stories?
should i be put out..any horror stories...i have all four i have to have out and they are impacted tilted toward the front of my mouth..i'm scared to get them out..call me a whimp but i hate stuff like that.

Mine were impacted too and the dentist had a hard time getting them out. I wasn't unconscious, but they did an excellent job with the local anesthetic and the procedure was painless if a little odd. The pain killers they gave me to take home were great too, except it turns out that opiates make me throw up. However, they did kill the pain quiite nicely, and I know they don't make everybody nauseous.
As to advice, my dentist told me that you get little blobby blood clots in the holes where the teeth were, and you shouldn't disturb them or suck them out of there, otherwise you might get dry sockets, which is apparently particularly painful. Also, this may be too obvious, but remember to have some food on hand that you don't need to chew, like yogurt or apple sauce. That first day or two, you're not going to want to bite down on stuff. Also, get all 4 done at once. My dentist didn't want to do that, but I insisted and I was glad. Wisdom tooth removal is one of those things that ought to be a once in a lifetime experience. Just think - when this is over you won't have this hanging over your head anymore.
