Is it normal to look odd with dentures?!
Question: My mom got 8 teeth pulled adn their still healing but she wears dentures fer now but it just doesn't look like her! He top lip is alot thinner and she talks funny (obviously from being in pain) I just want her to look gorgeous when she gets her implants on bottom and permenant dentures on top (the ones she has now are temparary) Would she look like herself when the swelling goes down? It's like i dont know her anymore =/.

When did she get her teeth pulled? It takes months for the tissue to heal, and in that time a lot of changes happen. The gums will shrink quite a bit until she gets her permanant denture. ANd even after that the gums change and she will have to get it re fitted a few times.
Give it some time, and support her as much as you can, I am sure this was not easy for her.

I had my top teeth pulled a week ago yesterday and dentures put in it looked funny at first but as the swelling has gone down and the stitches were removed i notice tonight it looks just darn good especially after what i did have for teeth (ewwww) I'm sure your mom loves them even while they still hurt it takes time to adjust to talking with new teeth it's the same thing as having a arm or leg cut off and getting a new one.It's a huge adjustment! Let your mom know how nice she looks now with her new teeth.I spent until late yesterday in agony. It REALLY hurts today is MUCH better. She's still your mom just will be in alot less pain soon from the bad teeth and she will look very nice with her new mouth.
