Temporary filling gone up into tooth?!

Question:

Temporary filling gone up into tooth?

I am in the middle of having my root canal redone on a upper back molar and have a temp filling however I think something happened when I was eating and it has gone up into my tooth. I now cannot eat on it because there is such sharp pains. It doesnt hurt all the time only when eating on it. Has anyone had this happen? Do I need to go back before my next appointment in a month or shall i just wait but not eat on that side?

Additional Details

It has gone up into the tooth I can still see it in there but there is a gap because when I put tongue on the tooth there is hole

Answers:

You need to make an emergency appointment and get this sorted quickly. If left for a month bacteria will enter the hole and may cause an abcess - extremly painful. And even if it were not to happen you can't go a month with a hole in your tooth - its not right that you remain in pain. I suggest first thing in the morning ring the dentist and tell them your situation - they should fit you in that day!!
