Question:

I am having forsus attachedd to my braces, has anyone ever had this, and what should I expect?

Answers:

My daughter has them

The Forsus appliance is made up of a spring module that is attached to the upper molars, and a push rod attached to the lower archwire.

What does it do?
This appliance will help correct a large overjet.

What to expect?
You will feel some pressure on the teeth and initially some discomfort. Advil or Tylenol will be helpful the first few days. You may want to eat softer foods.

Common Problems
The rod may come out of the spring if you open your mouth really wide (yawning). If you open your mouth really wide again, you can replace the rod in the sleeve. If you cannot do this call us right away. If any of the parts on the appliance come out of your mouth call your doctor right away and bring the parts with you.
