Is gum recession due to gingivites reversible ?!

Question:

Is gum recession due to gingivites reversible ?

Answers:

Gingivitis (inflammation of the superficial gums) is reversible as once the plaque has been removed the swelling should go down. However recession due to chronic and deep inflammation (known as periodontitis) is permanent.
