20 years old with a healthy baby tooth.?!
Question:
20 years old with a healthy baby tooth.?
My cousin is 20 yrs old with a baby tooth. The dentist says the tooth is alive and healthy. How common is this? Has this happened to anyone?
Answers:
This is a fairly common genetic issue. If a person is missing a permanent tooth (it never develops), then the body will do all it can to hold on to the baby tooth that would normally fall out ot make room for permanent one.
If your lucky, the baby tooth will last a lifetime, but for many, the baby tooth is lost, and the patient is faced with decisions like implants, bridges and orthodontics to address the problem.
