I keep forgetting to put my rubber bands in. Will there be problems?

The Orthie gave me these rubber bands- Gregs, they called it in dentist-language, and I'm supposed to hook them onto my braces and take them off when I eat and put them back on. The problem is, I'm always forgetting to put them back in. Alwaysalwaysalways. I keep going days with out them and then I'll remember I don't have them in and I'll think lazily "I'll do it in a minute..." then forget. My mom said something like it'll have reverse effect if I don't wear them full-time...what's gonna happen? How am I going to remember to keep them in?

The rubber bands are used to correct the position of your teeth. I went through the same thing and ended up having to wear them 24/7---even while eating. I also had my braces on three months longer than expected. Best advice, if your ortho says wear them, just wear them. Ask for extra packs so you don't have to worry about not having them w/ you. I ended up having packs of rubber bands at work, in the car, in all of my purses, and in my nightstand.
