Anyone had an op in their mouth??HELP!!?!
Question: im 14 and my jaws are not like everyone elses ,my bottom jaw is further forward than the top. my orthadonstist has orranged for me to have an operation when im 16 and im going to have titanium plates put in. im freaked out. has anyone elsehad this done? and do they set off metal detectors. thanx.

It sounds kind of scary. My son almost had it but they corrected it with these really involved attachments which of course he hated, but it helped him to avoid a surgery. It was totally for the better because now he looks terrific. But he complained miserably for several years.
I have ten pounds of metal in me from some bad past mistakes. I have only set off the detectors 3 times, but the hand wands will more frequently go off.
