Dental assistants. Is it usually required to take a cpr/first aid class?!

Question: If you have your RDA or CDA, then yes, it is required by law. Most offices should have you take it for their insurance. The dentist is still responsible if you aren't. Think malpractice. Besides, it's just a good idea. Wouldn't you want to be able to help in case of an emergency?

nope i was a dental assistant for 2 years and never had to take any classes

I would rather have you give me C.P.R. rather than the
"dentist." And what if your dentist needed it. <}:-})

Nope. I have been a Dental Assistant since 1998 and the only time I was (required) to take a CPR/first aid class was when I was preparing to apply for the Dental Hygiene program.

The Dentist and the Dental Hygienist are required to take CPR and have a current/active CPR card. By law it is required to be licensed. A dental assistant doesn't have a license.
