Dental hygienists: A couple of questions you can help me with?!

Question:

Dental hygienists: A couple of questions you can help me with?

Do you have a second job that you have found to work well with this career? Or does dental hygiene work well as a single career focus?

Do you find dental hygiene to be stressful, taxing, or boring after a certain amount of time?

Thanks for your response :)

Answers:

To answer your first question, dental hygiene is a great career by itself. Depending on where you live, you have the potential to make great money. Plus, it is a very flexible job and it is easy to have a life beyond hygiene.
Second question... It's not really that stressful (in my opinion). Depending on where you work, your workday might be very fast paced. (Where I work, I have 10 patients in an 8 hour day... 8-50 minute appointments and 2-40 minute appointments). The job can be taxing on your body. A lot of hygienists I know get regular massages because you tend to feel sore. It can be a boring job as far as you're doing the same thing patient after patient, day after day. But, I think that the variety of people you get to meet more than makes up for that. You get to have some interesting conversations to make your day go by pretty quickly.
Hope that helps...
