I am getting teeth separators tomorrow?!

If you have had the elastic spacers (usually gray or blue) you'll remember they are stuck between your teeth- they usually feel like you have a piece of steak stuck in between your teeth.
The separators- if they're what I'm thinking of..are metal bands that go around the tooth. They usually try on several ring-like bands by slipping them over the teeth. (There should be plenty of space around each side of the tooth for the rings to slide over) They will then have you chomp down on a "bite stick" to help push the band on all the way. They will apply pressure with the stick to conform it to your tooth. Once they make sure it fits, they will take it off and put glue on it and slide it back on (this time it'll go easier).
You might feel a few little areas of pinching or stinging around your gums- but nothing unbearable. Your mouth will be a little sore the next couple of days, so you may have to eat soft foods- mashed potatoes, jello, mac-n-cheese. They're not real bad. Base on your medical history, the dentist will tell you what to take for pain relief (usually Advil) and this helps.
Braces make your mouth sore at first. Your whole mouth may feel slightly bruised. Certain teeth may feel it more if they are really out of alignment. Some people have a tough time the first couple of days- but it does get better. You'll get through it and you'll have a beautiful smile when it's all said and done!
