Spacers? Pain killer?!

Question:

Spacers? Pain killer?

ok so i just got spacers earlier today and they hurt pretty badly. the orthodontist said i could take advil and i did before, but the pain is still there!!! any other ways i can reduce the pain?

Answers:

When I got spacers they hurt for a few days. Your teeth need time to shift and as they shift some pain in produced. My ortho and dentist recommend ibuprofen for pain relief. Basically you need to keep up on it though and continue if you are still having pain. Just remember to follow dosage instructions. However if you feel you're having an unreasonable amount of pain I recommend a call into the ortho. He/she may have a suggestion of something else.

Have you started with braces yet? Because you'll also have similar pain every month after your ortho adjusts you teeth.

Best of luck.
