Abcessed tooth and facial swelling?!

Question: I cracked part of my tooth last week and then I started getting some swelling on that side of my face. I went to the dentist Friday and he prescribed some antibiotic and is going to fix the tooth on Wednesday. The swelling has finally gotten to where it is not uncomfortable , but there is still some swelling I can feel on my gumline where the infected tooth is. Will this go away before Wednesday? This is my 4th day on antibiotics and 5th day of being swollen.

Its should go down, but if it doesnt go all the way they can most likly still work on it.

To help with the swelling you might want to gargle with a mouthwash that has hydrogen peroxide in it, every few hours, to keep the area around your tooth clean. Both Listerine and Crest make a product. Take ibuprofen for the discomfort and swelling...it is a cheap NSAID (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory). And put ice on the swollen area for about 20 minutes, then off for awhile, then on again for another 20 minutes, if you can stand it. Drink lots of water, avoid soda pop, and always cleanse your mouth out with water after eating or drinking something...and brush gently around the area with a soft toothbrush and de-sensitizing toothpaste. Hope this helps you, it helped me.

Have you tried using Clove Oil,and rubbing this onto the infected part ? Numbs your face ........... I know, because I had a Tincture made up for me, some years ago.
