I have been a Dental/Oral Surgery for the past 18 yrs and you do have a point. As for me.....I have worked for many Dentists, my choice. I used to float alot and train, which I enjoyed very much. I have seen all kinds..and I will tell you that half of them are buttheads. I put them in the same class as Surgeons. They treat their staff like they are stupid, but as far as the office managers, they are very loved...and you know why.

I don't want to be narrow minded and I have worked for an amazing dentist, it just seems like alot are jerks. I understand if your not doing your job, but try to give me the time of day please. Thanks to all that answered. Report It

  • People who are higher up in their profression tend to look down on others who are not of a high position as him. Its human nature unfortunately.

'Most' dentists aren't like this, actually very few are.

What has he 'screamed' to you about? How has he asked you to 'serve' him?

Are you following 'everyone's' actions, or are you being yourself and greeting him when he walks in, making sure everything is ready for the patient, making sure the room has been broken down, disinfected and ready for the next patient, etc...?

Maybe 'everyone' has screwed up in one way or another, and he's just tired of it. Do your job, be professional, and then go home at the end of the day.

If you're that unhappy, then leave... and be more careful in choosing your next employer.

This is the exception not the rule. Find you another job!! I know of one dentist in 32 yrs like that he had 29 dental assistants as in every field there are a few bad eggs!!

It's too bad you have such a narrow-minded view of dentist's, and group as all together. In every profession there are some *******. I have a great relationship with my current AND former assistants and hygienists. We email, text, and converse all the time. Maybe, you should just find an employer who appreciates and understands your skills.
