Very important teeth question?!
Question: I was bulimic for 3 years and had AMAZING teeth i will admit, but i ruined them and most of the enamal is gone now and kinda of yellow and dull. So i have a dentist appointment today to talk to them about veneers and i was wondering should i get regular veneers or lumineers?? This whole issue is EXTREMLY upsetting to me because everyone always complemented me on my smile and my teeth and i had braces for 6 years just to get the teeth i had ugh..anyway i wish this whole thing was over already but im really afraid my teeth will look fake and horrible..anyone with experiance with this lend some advice??? any dentists out there on yahoo answers??

Hi Beth! I've been in dentistry for over 20 years and have had many patients with eating disorders. Veneers done properly look great.Lumineer is just a brand name. The quality is in the lab, not the name. I have done many sets and so far, no complaints. The lab we use is excellent and the color match, shape, value of tone of color is almost perfect. You do not want white, white teeth as THEY will look fake. And you want a shape and texture that looks like real teeth. Done right, they can last for many years and are easy to replace if broken. Please do this for yourself and you will feel much better about yourself. And remember to keep believing in you and go forward in your life. MOST soap opera stars have veneers, I know one of the Dentists in NYC that does hundreds of them. So look at General Hospital or All my Children. He has done almost all of their teeth. They look great.
Ditto Marie D. Lumineers are just a very publicised brand of porcelain veneer. Go with what your doc thinks best. Good luck!
i'm not a dentist and don't know much about teeth,but i do know something about venners cause i have them love them and highly recommend them to anyone not loving there own teeth!there very expensive i'll agree with that,but so worth it!i've had mine for 16 months now,no problems what so ever!i love them.good luck to you.
