Pink Magic Mouthwash???!

Question:

Pink Magic Mouthwash???

My 4 year old son has had fever blisters in his mouth for about 5 days now. He was in so much pain that we took him into a Pediatric Urgent Care center one evening. The pediatrician said that there wasn't anything that could be given to him and that the blisters would just go away in time. I hated that she did that because he is in so much pain and he hasn't been able to eat all this time. I spoke to my pharmasist and he recomended Pink Magic Mouthwash. He said this would simply ease the pain. I've never heard of this and neither has the pediatrician we saw that night. I tried seaching for information on it online and can up with nothing. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard or used this "magic mouthwash"???

Answers:

I work for CVS/Pharmacy and we make magic mouth wash all the time.
our blend is equal parts of four products

Pink Liquid Benadryl
Liquid Maalox or Mylanta
Nystatin Liquid(RX only antifungal product)
Viscous Lidocaine 2 %(RX only numbing product)
sometimes this mixture varies depending on the doctor that requests it, but this is the basic run of the mill reciepe
sometimes doctors choose to use different antifungal or different pain products, and sometimes they like a different antihystimine b/c people have a problem with the benadryl, but mostly this is what our patients get if the doctor orders MMW
i would guess the doctor calls it "pink magic mouthwash" b/c the benadryl is pink, and sometimes the Nystatin is pink as well, but sometimes its yellow.
normally the whole mixture is a chalky pink color.
but this is a very good product, trusted and easy, simple
works wonders for young children with thrush, people with cold sores, kanker sores, cancer patients with chemo burns
its just a good product.
if you cant get to a doctor for the RX version. you can use these over the counter products:
Childrens OTC Liquid Benadryl
Childrens OTC Liquid Motrin
Childrens OTC Liquid Pepto or Childrens Kaopepkate(i hope i spelled that one correctly)
just use equal parts of each, mix it up in a bottle, you can swab it on the mouth or let the child swish
and ITS SAFE TO SWALLOW
how much more great can you get
plus it will taste good too
i really hope this helps you
