Did the dentist screw up my root canal?!

Question:

Did the dentist screw up my root canal?

Got the crown 5 months ago. The dentist filed it down a few months ago because he said the bite was off. but there is a groove that is deeper than the rest that bothers me when I chew certain foods. it's sensitive, is it normal?

Answers:

If you had a root canal the tooth itself should not be sensitive as there is no more nerve in the tooth. (it cannot feel). But if the crown is still a bit high ( the bite being off) you would put more pressure on that tooth when biting which can cause the tissues around the tooth to be sore. the groove in the crown is normal it will feel different then the rest of your teeth because it is a crown. the labs recreate the anatomy of the tooth as best they can but it will feel different.
I would go back to the dentist and have him check your bite again
