What happens if you eat after the dentist?!

Question: They said don't eat for 30 minutes and I just ate a 100 calorie pack snack. I just had the cleaning and fluoride, and I ate when they told me to wait. What happens? What should I do?

The fluoride treatment is ineffective if you eat before the 30 minutes is up. It takes 30 minutes for the fluoride vitamins to fully absorb into your tooth. It helps make the enamel stronger and less likely to get cavities. Basically, you wasted your money that you paid for the fluoride treatment by eating before the 30 minutes was up and will be more likely to have cavities than you would have been if you had waited 30 minutes.

Well all that happened was the flouride most likely washed off. Thats bout it. Flouride is definelty good for your teeth in small amounts like what we put on your teeth at the dr.
