Cut in my mouth on my cheek?!

Question: So i went to the dentist to get 2cavity fills on the right side of my mouth. they gave me 3 shots and my whole right side of my mouth, tongue, lip, andcheek were numb. i couldnt feel anything and bit everything. Everything was very minor except my cheek. i really bit it. Its super painful to talk, laugh, smile, eat, open my mouth, and just doing nothing at all. Has this happened to anyone? What did u do? What can make it better? Its so painful!!

Salt water rinses and keeping away from acidic foods/drinks will help. If the swelling/pain continues, though, you should go back to your dentist. Reason being...your mouth naturally has bacteria in it, and cuts in the mouth can easily become infected. Have your dentist look at it. Perhaps it may require some antibiotics to help. Just something to think about.

The next time you leave your dentist office, ask them for several cotton rolls. I always offer them to adult patients who are numb on the top and bottom (even cross quadrants). You may feel silly walking around biting on a cotton roll...but it can save your lips and cheeks from biting trauma.

Yes this has happened to me the other week and was very sore i washed my mouth out daily with salt in water to make sure i didnt get a nasty infection

why would u bite it...what is wrong with you

I did that a lot with braces. Try eating ice or getting some Orajel. Numbing it will really help. I hope it gets better soon, I know it hurts!
