I chewed my cheeks and they really hurt!?!

Question: I can't eat anything that needs the use of my back teeth and is salty or sweet. I am so fed up with the pain and i'm not sure how to heal the inside of my mouth. It's swollen and rubs against my teeth when i talk or just rest my head on a pillow. The pain is really sharp. That has gone on for 3 days already, and painkillers don't work.. I'm sure it'll heal eventually but can i get any advice on how to haste the process and relieve my pain now.

It sounds like you are a bruxer. Clenching and grinding at night while you sleep is very common. You could go to the store and buy a rubber night guard in the dental section or an athletic guard worn in sporting events. This is usually not the best appliance because its hard to keep them in, but temporarily it may let your cheeks heal. Try Oragel or Orabase over the counter medicines that contain benzocaine to help numb the cheeks.
If your teeth are sensitive to sweet, that could indicate a cavity, but not always. Try not using any type of toothpaste with tartar control or whitening in it. Use something for sensitive teeth or just plain Crest, Colgate etc original formula. If you could find some dental wax maybe you could place that in your cheeks to keep the cheeks off of the teeth. I hope this gave you something to work with. Other than rinsing with warm salt water a few times a day (1-2 tsp. salt/ 6oz. warm water), that's all I can think of to help you. See your dentist about any possible decay and ask about a night time appliance for Bruxing.

That sometimes can indicate your wisdom teeth need to come out or you have been brushing your teeth to hard. Use a salt water mouth wash it will heal it up quickly

i use 2 do this the dentist told me to go buy a moth guard at walmart and it helped i used it until my mouth healed and i quit using it i dont do it any more
