Question:

Answers:

Warm salt water will NOT help receding gums. Receding gums is cause by over vigorous brushing at the gumlines or by plaque sitting at the gumlines. Get yourself a nice SOFT toothbrush and when you brush brush in downward strokes on your upper teeth and upward strokes on your lower teeth (pulling the plaque away from the gumlines) Salt water is only recommended for swollen gums because the salt in the water help take out the swelling. Warm salt water is usually recommended after a deep cleaning or a periodontal prophylaxis or after an extraction site is closed over well. It will do absolutely nothing for receding gums, sorry.
