Lump in cheek? low grade fever? nose bleed on that side, and blood in ear on t!
Question:
Lump in cheek? low grade fever? nose bleed on that side, and blood in ear on that side?
Do you have any ideas of what might cause this? My sister was complaining that her gums were hurting a couple of days ago on the left side. Now today she has a lump in her cheek and a low grade fever. Yesterday her nose was bleeding only on the left side and when she used a q-tip she noticed there was blood on it from her left ear. None of her teeth hurt if she pushes on them or tries to wiggle them so it doesn't sound like an absess tooth. Any suggestions on what might cause this?
Answers:
It sounds like a trip to the dentist is needed. She, or you, needs to call her dentist (or any dentist) and get an emergency appointment. Tell them the symptoms, and I guarantee you they'll get her in right away. Blood in her ear is a very bad thing. It sounds like an abscessed tooth that may have infected into her sinus cavity causing the blood in her nose. However, this needs to be determined with an emergency visit. don't let her hesitate on this. These symptoms can spread to other organs, and become life-threatening, if it is indeed a serious tooth infection.
