I drank coffee after mine but I made sure that it cooled down some. If the coffee is to hot, it may cause him some pain.

he should not drink anything hot including coffee

I would advise holding off on that until he is completely healed as to not make the pain worse

Generally no.

if he wants coffee make it lukewarm

I dont' see why it would matter...I mean he has to drink liquids...as long as there is no lingering infection, I don't see a problem

i cant believe your dentist didnt give you a post op list of do's and dont's...call his office and ask...

Coffee is fine. He can eat or drink anything as long as his comfort level is fine with it. It is possible that extreme tempuratures will bother him, but there is no restriction on what to eat. Just make sure he is not smoking or sucking anything through a straw as the sucking will pull his blood clot out which will cause dry socket, a painful infection of the bone.

No problem!! Doc W
