With PPO dental insurance will I have to pay upfront for some fillings tommorow?!


Question: We have no deductible and they pay 75% of almost everything except exam they pay 95%. Its the first time we have had dental insurance worth using and the receptionist didnt say anything today when I made the appointment. Any ideas helpful, if not I will find out in the morning.

COntact your dentist. Depending on your insurance, and his practice, you might be billed, or need to pay up front.

Cant really tell you more without knowing more about the specific coverage. Just call teh dentist office, they will tell you everything you need to know. Then, call the insurance provider, to confirm the dentist's info.

You will probably have to pay your 25% of whatever they do the same day.

Typically they will check the plan to see eligibility, deductible, reimbursement rate, etc. Most will file the form on your behalf, and will ask for the remaining amount due. So if your fillings cost $200 and your insurance company agrees that's a "reasonable and customary" charge, you'll pay $50 tomorrow.
