Question: do i have to ask my dentist if i need braces or will he tell me because everytime he sees me i get exrays and he looks at them throughly and he consults it with my mom do u think he will just tell my mom i need them?

You should ask if you are wondering. Unless your teeth are badly in need of braces, your dentist might not say anything about slight imperfections. Usually if they think you need braces, they will tell your parents and give them a referral.

My son was referred to an orthodontist by his dentist because they thought he might need braces and he did. I actually asked my dentist about arranging a consultation with an orthodontist. It's been obvious since I was 13 that I've needed braces but my family couldn't afford dental care for me when I was growing up. Last May was my first time in a dentist's chair since I was 9. I asked about braces then but instead had to have all my wisdom teeth cut out. I just got my braces a couple weeks ago.
