Question: Well, I don't really mean help. I want to know the steps of getting braces just so I know. I'm not really worried anymore. I would appreciate details. Please rate the pain from 1-10.
Thanxx!

1. Consultation: they look at your teeth, discuss your treatment options, prices etc

2. (they may do this in step 1) THey take moulds and xrays

3.Spacers, if your have those metal bands vound your molars, about 2 weeks before your braces go on they put little blue or grey things between your back teeth to make room for them

4.The braces go on!!!! they shove on the bands, they glue on the brackets, put on the wire then they put on the coloured bits (or clear) these actually hold on the wires!

5. You go back every 4-8 weeks (depending on your ortho) and they change the wire etc

6. They come off!!!! They now take more moulds and xrays to get your retainer made. They may give you a fixed wire, its a wire glued to the back of your teeth sometimes, it stays there till your sick of it.

RETAINERS:
2 types: hawley and essix. hawley are the plastic ones that have a wire round your front teeth and an essixs looks similar to invialine. You will have to wear these all the time for a while then only at night when your ortho says so!!!

Keep wearing your retainer else your teeth WILL shift and your work will all be undone
