Second trip to the dentist to fix my bite after fillings!?!

Question:

Second trip to the dentist to fix my bite after fillings!?

I just got back from the dentist an hour or so ago. I had been in 2 weeks ago and she filed down the fillings a bit. After a couple of days, the pain came back so I got back in to see her. She filed down the fillings a bit more today and said that my bite should be fine now. Right now, I have no pain when I bite down. I'm just afraid that in a couple of days the pain will come back like it did last time. She has taken x-rays the last 2 visits and says that there is no infection or anything that could be causing the pain. Has this happened to anyone else? How many times can you have your bite adjusted before something else needs to be done? Should I just be careful about eating on that side of my mouth for a couple of days and see if the slight pain I had in my tooth calms down?

Answers:

HELLO JUSTINSMOMMIE,

WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS AFTER A BITE IS ALDUSTED IS THAT EVERYTHING RETURNS BACK TO NORMAL. WHEN THE FILLING WAS DONE IT WAS LEFT A BIT HIGH SO THE BITE HAD TO BE ADJUSTED. THE TOOTH MAY STILL BE SENSITIVE FOR A FEW DAYS, BUT THIS SHOULD GRADUALLY IMPROVE. IF AFTER A FEW DAYS IT GETS WORSE, YOU SHOULD RETURN TO THE DENTIST AS SOMETHING ELSE IS WRONG.
FOR A FEW DAYS DON'T EAT HARD THINGS ON THIS SIDE.
