How long will it take for the infection/swelling to go down?!


Question:

How long will it take for the infection/swelling to go down?

Saturday night, I got swelling in the roof of my mouth. Tuesday, I went to the dentist. He gave me amoxacillin. I have been taking it as prescribed. I think I keep irritating the swelling because my tongue is always touching it. When will the swelling go down? I can't eat alot of stuff. (That's important because I'm 38 weeks pregnant).

In other words- I've been taking the amoxacillin for 2 days, its an abscess tooth....


Answers:

Perhaps the amoxacillin is not the antibiotic that you need for the problem. . . Call the dentist (and your OB-GYN) you need to be cautious.
