Infection after wisdom tooth extraction?!

Question: I had 4 highly impacted wisdom teeth extracted yesterday at 10AM at first i was in alot of pain but by this morning my teeth and gums didn't hurt at all i only took my tylenol 3's once today- this morning. But my face looks like a balloon! and there is pus coming out of both sides on the bottom (i can't see the top) I haven't chewed anything I have been having really watery low fat vanilla shakes with protein powder added in and that is all.
Is the pus normal? I would go see my surgeon but it is a 2 hour drive!

Also I cannot open my mouth more than an inch, I have severe TMD and my jaw hurts SO SO BAD and it just wont open or close all the way since the surgery- Will this go away or did it permanently damage my jaw? I can barely open enough for a spoon to go in. barely big enough for my finger to push a pill down my throat!

Did your oral surgeon not prescribe you some anti-biotics? Hmmm....

Well, it looks like you need to see your doc as soon as humanly possible. Pus is not normal, nor should you have a foul smell in your mouth. Is there a doctor you can see locally for this emergency? Maybe you can call your surgeon and see if he knows what the problem is just by having you describe the problem, and then he could call a prescription in to your local pharmacy. In any case, I wish you the best. At times like these, it's easy to wish we never even heard of teeth, heh heh. Good luck. :)

I had my wisdom teeth out and i never experienced any puss..that doesnt sound too good, the sore jaw sounds normal, mine was pretty stiff for a few days but eventually went bak to normal,
maybe u have dry sockets?
and if ur using a straw to drink ur shakes that could be it cuz ur not supossed to use a straw bcuz of sucking motion?
if it continues id go bak to doctor or atleast call them

infected....go to doc.
