Years ago I had a bottom molor break off and because it caused no pain I didn't do anything about it. 2 weeks ago it started becoming very painful. Turns out it was abscessed. However, because I had waited so long it was so broken down that there was no saving it. I had to go to an oral surgeon who prescribed a weeks worth of antibiotics before he would even touch it. After a week of pain I went back to him on Tuesday and had the tooth extracted. Because it was so broken down, it didn't come out in one pull and broke apart. I ended up having to have several stitches and am recovering now. My point is..you need to have this looked at now while it's still fixable or you're goin to end up like me and have to have it extracted.

if half of your tooth had a cavity in it then the cause (possibly decay) could leave a bad taste in your mouth. b/c you "smell" the decay it could make you nauseous also. not sure about the diarrhea. if your dentist gave you antibiotics for this condition it could cause diarrhea as it kills off some of the normal flora of the gastrointestinal tract. you need to call a dentist tomorrow if you have not done so already. he/she may not be able to save the tooth if you wait.
good luck!
