Im getting braces soon.. Does it hurt?

Of course! It's not extreme, but your mouth is pretty sore. Before you go in to get braces, take Tyenol or Ibuprofen 30 minutes beforehand...that helps a ton.
The pain usually lasts the first week, and you'll be able to chew well again.
I advise you buy soft foods the night before such as rice, pudding, ice cream, soup, etc. Why? You have trouble chewings simple things such as bread! Soft foods will be the best during that first week.
