Ortho. Why do I have to wear the rubber bands.?!


Question: I went to the ortho yesterday and they did the usual change wires and rubber bands, but no I have to wear a rubber band from the back of my top teeth to the front of my bottom teeth. Why do I have to wear these rubber bands?

To pull your front teeth out or your bottom teeth in. I had bands on my molars, but never in front. Ask your ortho if you can wear them only at home/night. He/she might agree, especially if you are likely to not wear them anyway if they are embarassing.

so the teeth get pulled in the right direction and stay in the right direction during the ortho. process. i had this too and was very embarrasred by it.

It improves your bite and pulls the teeth to where they should be.
I had them for YEARS.

I was told it's to align your bite.

to keep your mouth and train it to be in the propper place
