After 6 months I still have tooth sensitivity after having a cavity filled...?!

Question:

After 6 months I still have tooth sensitivity after having a cavity filled...?

I had the white fillings put in my teeth about 6 months ago. Ever since then, I have been unable to eat on that side of my mouth. Some days I get a constant pain. I went back to the dentist a couple of months ago and was told that this type of sensitivity with these fillings is normal and that it would eventually go away. But it's not getting any better. Please help...what is going on???
