I did that once and even gave myself a gum infection! Best relief for that is rinsing with warm salt water. 1 tablespoon of salt in 1/2 a cup of warm water. Just rinse for as long as you can hang. If it get's worse... go to the dentist.

no dangerous bacteria

you probably flossed to hard

yes. it could be many things, take ibuprofen, use a hot compress, rinse with listerine, and if it the swelling doesnt go down in a day, go see a dentist

Well...I'm sure you just irritated your gums when you flossed...and maybe they weren't that healthy to begin with...you should go to a dentist?

Yes.

If you have "inflared" gums, then try something called Gly-Oxide. It's an over the counter gel type deal that you can rub on your gums or gargle with it. It's pretty much peroxide and something else mixed. It doesn't burn at all. It just tastes a LITTLE funny, but just rinse with water (only if you gargle) and you'll be fine. If you rub it on your gums, don't rinse, you wont taste anything.

I don't know why flossing would cause inflammation, but, rinse with Listerine anyway or salty/hot water.
