I got my braces today! expecting pain...?!
Question: Getting my braces didnt hurt at all, (that was about 2 hours ago) and while i have a mild headache im expecting much more pain very soon.
Can you tell me how soon, how bad is it, and how long does it last?

hey hey! how exciting! you'll be getting a wonderful smile in no time!
of course you're going to feel some mild pain/mild discomfort for the first week- and a day or two after every ortho adjustment.
don't stress though! just take good care of your teeth and avoid anything hard because it might force one of the brackets to come off and possibly part of your tooth!
if you feel any pain, take a Tylenol pill. (but it's rare to have immense pain) :D

Just constantly chew on something. Chewing on your tounge, or your fingers won't do any good for some reason. Chew gum, chew anything you could eat or something. Just limit your intake of calories haha. It lasts about 1-4 days, depending on how long you've been gnawing on something. Taking pain pills doesn't work for me, if I'm trying to get rid of the ache.
bit of tenderness as your teeth will be getting used to them. also you may want to stick to some softer foods for the next 24 hours if necessary. the discomfort goes away genreally after a couple of days, although some people do get ulcers/irritations from the brackets rubbing the mouth. if this happens just use some gel, but i got them about 3 weeks ago and had no problems.
yes. good luck and this isn't the only pain you will get. getting them tightened hurts too.
right after u get braces, it doesnt hurt until the next few hours or minutes. take pain medication. if it keeps hurting, get an icepack and hotpack and switch back and forth.
yes there will be pain for a week or so
don't worry... this is the worst pain you will feel with the braces (for me at least) Tightening doesn't hurt as much because you are still used to the braces...so yea after the pain goes away you will forget they were there.
