If it is small it problay wont hurt as much! But I had a cavity and I didn't need a shot or is that just for small cavites?

Anyways it does hurt but just think about something that does not remind you of Dental Stuff! And it was over in a sec. And i know it wouldn't hurt like your going to die it may just hurt for a momenet then it will be over!

I just had (over the course of the last 6 months), 6 fillings.... Some big, some very small... They were dont in sessions (along with a route canal and crown).....

The big ones required shots... The small ones did not,.....
I brush and floss every day.... but apparently that wasnt doig the trick.

My advice.... Get it done. It wont be too bad.... point is to get it done now to avoid the long term possibilities.... route canal was not fun and the crown is annoying, not to mention expensive... $3800 later....

if its small and just a surface filling, only on enamel not into dentin, you wont need a shot

if it really is small - it wont hurt without novocaine - I suggest you bring music to listen to if it really bothers you... you also can always have them try it without the novocaine and if you feel uncomfortable they can just administer it then...

I got a cavity filled without getting a novocaine last month, it wasn't bad and it didn't take long at all.
