I also have tonsil stones, and am battling the same issue you are : surgery, or tough it out.
Those who I have asked have told me that, after giving birth to 3 children, this was the most painful thing they have done in their life. You are laid up for a week, and your head pounds, and you can't eat. Imagine, laid up, and you don't even want to read or watch TV. Personally, I think I am going to go with the salt water for as long as I can handle it - because surgery just isn't worth it. Hope this helps you.

Doesn't hurt when they're doing it 'cause you're asleep. Hurts like h ell for a week afterwards, but they'll give you some pain meds. Put you in la la land. You oughta lose some weight.

Good luck.

I would hate surgery. Just use mouthwash

No because your asleep at that time because my tonsils were removed in 2nd grade

Actually, no it does not. Well it will make your throat sore, I must admit, but not anything unbearable at ALL!! You will do great! All they do is make you take a urine test and a blood draw thingymagiger prior to the surgery. Then they give you a bracelet, Make you wear hospital socks and pajamas... I think you have to wear pajamas anyway, and them you walk down to the room and when you lie down, make sure to close your eyes!! You'll wake up and scarf down ice cream and you'll be fine!! Even if it hurts at first, make sure to drink. I got better really fast because I drank alot, even if it hurt me at first. Trust me, it's well worth i and you'll do great!

The few weeks after is hell. For me at least. I was sick every 2 or so weeks, but now with them out i am sick much less often.
