Answers:

The technical details about where the injections go (since you asked where we will inject it):

Upper jaw wisdoms - The practitioner will inject the gums near the tooth to be pulled (infiltration). Also, an injection will be made on the palate near your first molar (to block the greater palatine nerve).

Lower jaw wisdoms - The practitioner will insert the needle about 1 inch into the side of your jaw near the back, and make the injection there (the Mandibular Block injection). That is where your Inferior Alveolar Nerve enters the vertical portion of your lower jawbone (the ramus). It will numb the entire side of the jaw if done right. Also, another injection on the outside of your lower second molars (to numb the long buccal nerve that innervates your gums in that region).

If these injections are done right, you should feel no pain at all during the extractions.

A healthy adult can tolerate up to 9 carpules of 2% Lidocaine w/ 1:100.000 epinephrine per day. Most likely you will get 4 carpules (1 per tooth), but the lowers sometimes might need more than 1 carp per side.

I know the technical details are boring, but you asked for it! :-D

Hope this helps
