I'm getting braces in a few days?!

I'm getting braces in a few days?

What are they going to do? What are the steps that they are going to take?

I have to get both top and bottom braces, but I'm getting my top ones first.

So basically, when I go in for my braces, what are they going to do, step by step?

basically what they do is sit you in the chair and tip you very far back, to the point where you feet are higher than your head (at least at my ortho's). then they size you for the things that actually hold the wire in place, not the brackets, i call them anchors, they go around your whole tooth, then they put cement stuff on it and put it on your tooth..the stuff is very bitter, then they will make sure your teeth are clean and then they cement on the brackets. then the orthodontist comes in and "bonds" them which is like putting this hair dryer looking thing against the brackets to make sure the cement is dry, they will put on the wire, and color, ask you if anything is poking, teach you how to floss and you will be on your way..its the same process for the bottom teeth.

i would suggest taking some Tylenol before you get them on and after you get them on because they will be sore for a few days.
