i'm perfect for this question :D i have had braces twice and for a total of 5 years! and i'm only a freshman in high school! lol ok...the only time they hurt is when you come in and they change the colors. that tightens your braces so your mouth is sore. i would suggest soup, yogurt and jello for 2 days! and the metal might hurt a bit at first, since your mouth isn't used to the braces. ask your dentist about wax to put on the braces so they don't hurt your lips...i was actually sorta scared about getting them. COLORS! i lovee pink so i usually get pink...most let you pick of a variety of colors. i usually get two different colors. blue and pink would look great! good luck i will email you more for tips :D

get red rims black is nerdy. and red is hot (get it) lol

i have em on right now! no they dont hurt..it doesnt feel like anything! and blue and pink are good.

It hurts for a few days but after that its fine. Tylenol helps! And about colors I dont know what to tell you, uhhh, pick seasonal colors!

ya they hurt at first but not much and only like 2 days

I have invisalign, so i don't do colors, but yes, all braces make your teeth and gums sore. Nothing some orajel and aspirin can't cure though. good luck on your new pretty smile

They will be sore for the first day or two after you first get them put on, and for a little while after each time you get them tightened. It is not that bad after the first time, though, and they will not hurt at all for most of the time.

Pink and blue are pretty...just remember to pick colors which will match most of your clothes!

they might hurt if you get the top and bottom in at the same time. I remeber when i had braces it only hurt when i chewed for a few days after i got them on, or after i got them tightened but its not that bad :)

yea they hurt for the first few weeks and you'll barely be able to chew. It also happens when you get your braces changed. I suggest that you dont get white because they dont stay white for long and dont get yellow because it makes you look like you have yellow teeth

ok i dont know if theyll hurt but i think light blue would bge your best bet!....and go with only 1 color ...much betteer

they only hurt for the first couple of days, but it really helps if you take tylenol or any other type of pain killer. yeah blue and pink are nice colors.

Well they do not hurt when you are getting them put on, but after wards your teeth will hurt SO bad! And it lasts for a few days. I advise taking some sort of pain killer before going in for your appointment, so the pain is a little less intense when it hits you.

they only hurt a little bit at first and then u should get used to them

get whatever colors u like best!

they are kinda sore at first, but the pain depends on how crooked ur teeth are. if it gets too bad, just take some advil or something. but don't worry it only hurts for a few days. just don't eat steak for dinner the first night u get them like i did!

for colors, if u don't want them to stand out a lot u should get white, or silver. but if u don't care then pink and blue sounds pretty cute.

I have three kids who all had braces. Our orthodontist suggested they take an advil or tylenol about 30 min. before their appointments...that worked great! Check with your parents about what you should take...don't self medicate!! I also made them soft food: smoothies, mac and cheese etc for about three days after their appointments. The color thing is fun. Go with the season...why not green for St. Patricks day or pink for the Easter Bunny. You'll just love your smile when you're done!! : )

They hurt for a few days
I didnt get to choose my colours the orthdonist did and they are metal with NO colour. i hate it they are boring
