I have a wisdom tooth coming in and it's really annoying, what can I do abou!

Question: you are experiencing pericoronitis which is inflammation of the gums around the crown of a tooth caused by the introduction of bacteria into the gum pocket forming around the 3rd molar. you can help speed up the healing process by rinsing every hour that you are awake with a glass of water and take an anti-inflammatory as directed on package. if the infection worsens to the point of fever, difficulty swallowing or swelling of the face, then you need to see a dentist or doctor for an antibiotic. this should be a temporary condition although it will have a tendency to come and go until the tooth A) fully erupts or B)is extracted. If the tooth has enough room to come in all the way and actually be used for chewing, then you can just wait out the process and keep the tooth. If, however, your teeth are not going to have enough room or they are going to come in crooked, your only definitive treatment option is extraction. Best Wishes!

get it pulled, however it hurts alot for the next few days

If it's just annoying because it's coming in (breaking through the gums) then there's nothing to worry about. If it's annoying because it hurts, or is causing other problems, then you need to get it checked by a dentist. Many people have "impacted" wisdom teeth which means it's growing in crooked and pushing on your other teeth and can cause secondary problems in addition to pain (movement of your other teeth, etc.).

Best thing to do is get it checked by a dentist. However, many people keep their wisdom teeth their whole life and never have a problem (like me :-))
