How long would I be out under general anestheia?!

Question: since this was posted under dental then i am assuming you will be having a dental proocedure performed under sedation. although people refer to it as being put to sleep, it is usally conscious sedation versus general anesthesia. with sedation, you are not going to remember a thing, but you are actually responsive throughout the procedure. if sedation is indeed what you will have, then you will return to an alertness within minutes after the procedure and be a little groggy for a few hours.

Depends on what you're having done.

hopefully until they have finished what they are doing!

depends on what they're doing, if your getting fillings probably like an hour or so. just depends really

I think it depends on how much of the drug they give you or something?

What are you getting done? I am a dentist that does general anaesthetics and once the anaesthetist puts the patient to sleep I can extract 4-5 teeth in 10 mins. If its fillings and extractions its about 30mins.

How long is a piece of string?

xx

In your own mind not very long at all. It seems to end nearly as soon as it starts. Most people say that and I've had gas for dental work a few times myself (long time ago though - when I was a minor).

Depends on the nature of the work or op how long in reality. I wouldn't let it worry you though.
