Tooth ache after a dental crown was put in?!

Question:

Tooth ache after a dental crown was put in?

I had a big cavity and got a ceramic dental crown put in around a month back. The dentist said that the tooth will get adjusted and i will feel normal soon. But sometimes after i brush my teeth, I felt a little pain. from today morning i am getting lot of pain and its unbearable now. there is a little pain in my ear too. Is this ear pain related to my tooth ? is this tooth ache because the dental crown was not put in properly ? do i need to change the dentist ? I used a pain killer for my pain temporarily as i am at my workplace now and wont be able to visit my dentist right now. My uncle advised me to get the tooth removed instead of putting in a dental crown as it would cause even more problems but my dentish suggested the crown so i went for it. was my uncle right ? did anyone have a similar problem ? what is the solution for this ? .. I am usually very scared about health problems and i am really concerned now ..

Answers:

I had tenderness until it all settled in place but never had anything like this. You need to call the dentist and get back in ~ you may have an infection. If you aren't happy with him, find another one but do get it treated right away.
